WORK PACKS MODULE

The Work Packs module is tightly integrated with the Inventory, Maintenance Management and Work Order modules, hence all these are required for the use of work packs.

Work Packs has been developed to allow operators who have routine maintenance tasks to better control these tasks by grouping tasks into card or work packages. Only the packages have to be forecast rather than every individual task. Tasks can be defined by aircraft type then grouped together, scheduled, signed off and generating a history of accomplishment.

Features exist to be able to define routine tasks together with associated details such as required parts or tooling, man hours by trade, MM and MPD references, task procedures, special instructions, check period and frequency, zones and access panels. The planner can then organise these tasks into packages.

A cross reference of tasks to packages is available on-line. A scheduling record on each aircraft indicates when the next check or visit is due. A check or maintenance visit can be planned from tasks or packages plus due of out of phase components and inspections, plus open defects and standard tasks. The planned visit's resource requirements can then be produced detailing the parts, tooling, access and man hours required.

The module allows routine cards to be printed or can create a list of files to be printed from existing files held electronically such as on CD-ROM.

Tasks can be signed off individually and electronically by engineers as the check progresses. Alternatively, Technical Records can update the technical records after the check. The routine tasks can be signed off in one step (individual tasks not accomplished can be tagged during this process and therefore remain open) and the history of accomplishment of each task is retained.
